Congratulations to Aimee Gaston who is our OnlineHS April Student of the Month.
Aimee is an 11th grader at Everett High School taking face-to-face classes as well as OnlineHS classes.
Her OnlineHS teacher Mark Ryder says “She is a very self-motivated and self-directed learner who always strives to meet and exceed expectations.“
When asked the question, what do you like best about online learning?
Aimee says “I like taking online classes because it gives me the opportunity to study at my own pace. While some concepts are easy to understand and follow through quickly, others are more challenging. Online classes have helped me further understand and master material since I can spend more time on information that is more difficult to understand. It turned out that I got more done in a shorter amount of time.”
For over a decade, Aimee has been involved in a scouting program called American Heritage Girls. She recently earned the highest award of the program called Stars and Stripes which is similar to the Eagle Scout Award.
Aimee has a bright future ahead of her. Her post-high school plans are to study medicine, especially nursing at the University of Washington. Having been in the NJROTC program at Everett High School, she also is considering a path of serving our country as an officer in the Air Force or Navy.
Congratulations Aimee!
