The staff and instructors couldn’t be more proud to announce Mollie Hickman as our OnlineHS Student of the Month for April 2017.
Ms. Hickman is an outstanding online learning student, demonstrating self-direction, problem solving, and has been the model of resilience too.
In her own words, Mollie says:
Through high school online high school has literally saved my life. Due to the situation with my health and having to miss lots of school and not not being able to complete a full day of school, I turned to online high school. The staff were great with working with me and being very understanding. Online high school gave me the opportunity to be able to graduate on time with my class. I love online high school the ability to work at home and on my own time was wonderful, it also made me a very self directed learner which will be great skill to have going into college.
English teacher Laura Wight adds “Mollie has persevered and excelled in her on-line course–meeting deadlines, communicating with teachers and submitting quality, high-level work.”
“She always did superior work” said, Mark Ryder, OnlineHS Math instructor.
“There’s a bigger story behind Mollie that makes all she does more remarkable. I have a lot of admiration for her”, said Kevin Corbett. “If only every student could communicate as responsibly and perform as well–she’s an amazing young lady!”
Mollie has excelled in 14 online courses over three years (list below) and will be graduating this year from Jackson High School.
She will be taking her energy and enthusiasm for learning to BYU (Idaho) where she’ll be pursuing a career as a pediatric nurse.
The staff & teachers wish her continued success in what is certain to be a bright future!
